At the tender age of six Jerel began his life-long love of music by playing the organ. Soon after, he began playing trumpet and studied piano through high school. As a member of the De La Salle Choir he was honored to perform for an appearance of civil rights leader Dr Cornel West. In 2015, Jerel began singing with Derrick McDuffey and Kingdom Sound. Together they have toured with Lyle Lovett and numerous gospel performers. Locally, he appeared in the premier performance of Damien Geter’s African American Requiem with the Oregon Symphony, and Portland Opera’s production of Showboat. He is truly grateful to be sharing his musical ministry through singing and playing the organ.
