The story explores the impact of addiction, abandonment, the search for identity, and the journey toward healing. Crack baby follows the emotional and transformative journey of Hope, a woman born, addicted to crack cocaine, as she searches for the mother who abandoned her in the hospital. The play is a narrative piece that traces her entire life, beginning with her birth, through her childhood in foster care, adolescence, and ultimately, her adult search for her mother. Along, the way Hope grapples with her own identity, the psychological scars of being left behind, and the pain of not knowing.
